Problems on sikt
for the language of Swedes
Few students fordeepens themselves in the Swedish language. This can on sikt threathen the ställning of our language, an analysis group of the Högskoleverk are konstateiting. They have done an domesic outvalueting of Swedish and Nordic languagues. Over the team, or "över lag" as the swedes themselves have a habit of saying, are the language educations holding a high quality, though, even if the lack of teachers is serious on certain High Schools, infront of all at the High Schools of Halmstad and the Middle High School in the area of Sundsvall.
More and more companies in Sweden are changing their koncern-language to English, and in the world of High School education English is becoming more and more usual. Scientist in the field of natural science have finished thinking that Swedish is a usuable language. Therefore it is very important that there exists people with deep knowledge about the swedish language; people with the ability to take care of, do the analysing business about and keep track of how the language is spelled and talked, the analys group says.
But of the roughly 3 300 full year students who study Swedish and Nordic languages, only seven per cent are reading on higher levels, that is to say on c- or d-level. Even fewer students goes on to scientistic education, or forskar utbildning, as the swedes themselves tend to call it. That so few are foredeeping themselves in the language of swedes kan on sikt threathen the language, konstateiting the analysis group of Högskoleverket.
Another serios bit of shit is that Swedish chairs of learning, or läro säten, tend to give more resources to other languages, among them English, than to the Swedish language.
In the High School of Halmstad, the lack of Swedish teachers is so serios that the Högskoleverk now is putting in question their right to graduate students and similar stuff in Swedish.
The education with the prescence of teachers have gone down från nine-ten hours a week to about six hours. The Högskoleverk are recommendating nine hours as a minimal level to secure a High School mässig quality.
